Help for the MiM Owner iPhone app and for the Smart MiM system behind it. Most of what goes wrong on day one is on this page. If yours is not, write to us — a person in Doha reads it.
Tell us your group's name, which branch, and what the screen said, word for word. A screenshot helps more than a description.
Support is by e-mail, in English and Arabic. Write from the address your company is registered under, and say which group and which branch.
Before anything else
MiM Owner is a companion app, not a standalone one.
It shows the live numbers of a restaurant group that already runs on the Smart MiM system. If your group does not run MiM, the app has nothing to connect to and nothing to show you — there is no public account to sign up for, and no demo mode inside it. To see the software first, book a demo.
Connecting a phone
This is the whole first run. It takes about a minute.
Get the code from Head Office
On the MiM back office, open Head Office → Owner app. It shows a QR connection code for your company.
Scan it
Open MiM Owner and point the camera at that code. The app reads the code only — it takes no photograph.
Check the server name
The app shows you the address it is about to connect to and waits for you to confirm it. This is deliberate: never confirm a code someone sent you out of the blue. A code from anywhere but your own Head Office can point the app at a stranger's server.
Face ID, then your Owner PIN
Face ID proves the phone is yours. The PIN — the same one you use on the till — proves you are an Owner or Admin. The engine checks it; it is never kept on the phone.
What the messages mean
The app says things in words, not error numbers. Here is what each one is telling you, and who can fix it.
The phone has no passcode and no Face ID, so there is no lock to put in front of the company's money — and the app will not open the numbers without one. Set a passcode in Settings → Face ID & Passcode, then tap retry. This is not a bug; it is the point of the lock.
Someone at Head Office pressed Sign out all phones. Every phone was wiped back to zero on purpose, usually because one was lost. Get a fresh QR from Head Office and scan it again. Nothing is broken.
The key carried in your connection code is no longer accepted by the engine — most often after a security rotation. A new QR from Head Office fixes it.
The app is asking your engine for something that version does not have yet. Your engine needs its update; the phone is fine. This is one to send to us or to whoever deploys your engine.
The engine answered with a server error. Wait a minute and pull to refresh. If it is still saying this after a few minutes, write to us with the time it started — that is the detail we need most.
The QR you scanned is not one of ours. If the app says the code points at an insecure address, it is refusing a plain http:// address on purpose — ask IT for the https:// one. If it says the code is from a newer MiM, update the app from the App Store first.

What the app keeps on the phone, what it sends, and the three things it is never sent, are all set out in the privacy policy. The short version: everything stays between your phone and your own group's engine, and there is no third-party analytics or tracking code in the app at all.
